This grant is to assist students with the costs of attending camps/workshops during the summer that provide music enrichment and skills. It is for an individual, not group use.  The program or camp must relate to music or leadership areas that directly enrich his/her musical experience and cannot violate CISD rules. 

Application guidelines for this scholarship are as follows:

  • Student must be currently enrolled in the choral program
  • Minimum of 2.5 grade point average
  • Overall satisfactory conduct grade
  • Student must have $0 balance on all choir dues and fundraiser money owed.
  • Applicant’s family must be a member of the GOHS Booster Club by October 4 (EXTENDED to Dec 17) of the school year
  • Transfer students must submit documentation verifying choir activities in a previous high school program
  • The grant is not available for travel expenses, room and board, or College/High School Credit Courses
  • Student must complete all the scholarship application requirements, as provided on the application form
  • Student’s completed scholarship application must be received no later than the deadline date.
  • Students who do not have to pay for camp tuition (many camps provide tuition-free camps to former All-Staters) are ineligible
  • If approved, must create a short video presentation regarding the experience and present during the GOHS CHOIR BOOSTER CLUB General Meeting.

The Scholarship Committee, consisting of 5 members, will review that the student has met all the scholarship application requirements.  These members are:
• one freshman parent,
• one sophomore parent,
• one junior parent
• one choir board member
• Choir Director

Deadline: January 31

Applications must be turned in to your Choir Director by January 31. Grants are awarded up to a maximum amount of $100.  The winners of this year’s scholarship will be announced at the end-of-year Choir Banquet in May.
